Working in Canada
In order to obtain a Canada work permit, foreign workers must have an approved job offer. The Canada work visas are issued under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). IRCC collaborates with Employment and Social Development Canada to make sure foreign professionals don’t take jobs for which Canadian citizens or permanent residents are available. TFWP recognizes four streams of international workers: high-skilled workers, low-skilled workers, the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program, and the Live-In Caregiver Program.
